I wrote a poem

The Man Who Dared To Be A Boy

The day dawned, a sunrise fare
He must go, there are things to do.

But He stopped along the way
at the park where there were children at play

He walked out to a park bench
and sat for just awhile
flashbacks of days now gone bye

Memories of just being a little boy

He took off his shoes
no thought as to why
as he dreams of snails and shells
and long lost tales
the stories he could tell.

Forgotten shoes, it mattered not
treasures to find
no two of a kind, hidden behind a rock
or washed upon the shore.

He stepped into the frigid water
a spirit with daring grace
he felt no cold.

For boyhood thoughts filled his heart.

While diamonds glittered and danced
past water's edge

Dreams of snails and shells
and long lost tales

Oh, to be that boy again.

Note:
I just read this over and am thinking
I should have put in another verse
before that last line "Oh to be that boy again"
after having the boyhood dreams,
he comes back to reality of being a man
who now cherishes that boyhood memory.

I have to smile when I think back
to something and how good it feels to
just let myself become 'Lost In Thought'
