A Happy Saturday, May 18-2019, and look at this, not one but two Turkey Vultures playing with me, circling, swooping, graceful flight above me; I find these birds to be interesting and fascinating even though they do look quite awkward and ungainly on the ground and they must work hard to get off the ground to gain flight, they are graceful and elegant in the air, soaring in beautiful teetering flights across the sky they rarely need to flap their wings. They are a gentle, non-aggressive bird, they do not have a voice box, they cant sing or call, they hiss when threatened and grunt when hungry or courting.
Graceful in flight they can soar up to 6 hours without flapping it's wings, they circle upward searching for the warm air pockets that carry them upward in rising circles and once at the top they can dive across the sky at sixty miles per hour.
